The Sashimi Burrito at Make Fish in Midtown

The Sashimi Burrito at Make Fish Midtown
I'm in my happy place!

The folks at Make Fish are serious about their culinary craft.

They keep it simple... It's all about choice cut sashimi and the freshest produce coupled with culinary creativity and style!

It also helps that their staff is super friendly and glad to help you with navigating their menu, especially if it's your first visit.

I ordered their Sashimi Burrito and it exceeded my expectations.

This burrito packs a punch and includes fantastic cuts of tuna & salmon sashimi, tempura shrimp, avocado, wonton skin, kale, jalapenos, sesame seeds, sunomono, & green onions with habanera.

I like food on the spicier side and grabbed a packet of Sriracha sauce which I would typically drizzle on my fave Asian fare, but this particular dish did not need it. The jalapenos and habanera gave it enough kick without being overwhelming.  You can tell Make Fish focused on ensuring balance in their creations.

And you can tell that they take pride in how the meal is delivered.  They make it fresh as you order. The crispiness of the tempura stayed crispy and balanced out the textures of the sashimi.  The seaweed wrap also had great texture and had a sheen of sesame oil and just enough so that it didn't make it greasy and soggy, but added the trademark Asian taste.  The seaweed also had just enough pull to hold everything together and was flavorful.  It was partnered with just the right balance of rice.  The fresh veggies reflected bright colors which catches both the eyes and the palate.

The portion surprisingly is more than you think.  At first glance, I thought I could eat two orders of these, but I almost struggled to finish the second half.  It was perfect!

I'll be back to try the other delectable dishes.  Serious SacFarm2Fork stuff here!  Make Fish Midtown rocks!
